This summer, make art & take action for nature by entering our Species at Risk Summer Art Contest, for youth ages 5 – 30!

British Columbia is home to an incredible diversity of ecosystems, from mossy old growth forests to deserts to wetlands, and wildlife – some of which are only found in BC. However, many of these unique species are vulnerable and at risk of becoming endangered or even extinct. These species at risk depend on healthy, connected habitat that is protected from industrial threats such as logging and mining. There are nearly 2,000 species, subspecies, and ecosystems at risk in BC, including incredible and iconic species such as Caribou, the Vancouver Island Marmot, the Tufted Puffin, the Western Rattlesnake, and the Great Blue Heron.

BC does not currently have a provincial law that protects much-needed habitat for species at risk. Join us in calling for the provincial government to protect species at risk through our summer art contest!

The goals of this contest are to:

  1. Spread the word about species at risk
  2. Encourage youth to go outside and make art this summer
  3. Share young British Columbia’s concern for species at risk with decision-makers

Winning artworks will be mailed as a postcard to MLAs to urge them to support a provincial law that protects habitat for species at risk in BC.

Submit your artwork through the submission form above, or mail your artwork to our office:
